After the Neville feud I'm not surprised he asked for his release. He probably expected to be in a role like AJ and Samoa Joe. Which was obviously never happening.

I just read that he was released because he was unpopular with the writers and others backstage.
His ass trying to play it cool and act like it was his decision.

Apparently the Cruiserweight match at WrestleMania WAS supposed to be a multi-man match, but Aries complained and politicked his way to a singles match lol.

I'm surprised they gave him what he wanted. It's not like he has any leverage. Although they probably just thought fuck it, it's only the pre-show anyway. |

Well Triple H clearly doesn't know what the problem with the division is or how to fix it himself, so Aries probably convinced him a one-on-one program would get the crowd more invested and Triple H went with it hoping it'd work.
