I wish there was a Blockbuster around, I remember when I used to rent this shit instead of buying it. Saved me so much money. But the 'Jayzero' approach is best. I think I'm just gonna wait till I see other's reviews. I was so pumped for last years game, bought it the day it came out, played it for two days, and regretted it.

I think it goes without saying the first thing I'm going to do when I get the game is have her win the Divas Championship in WWE Universe mode and make sure she never loses it.

Someone's review,

So, I went to my Best Buy today and they had finally updated their game station and there it was. I played only exhibition matches, and looked a little bit at universe. My total time there was about an hour and a half. So, the information below is based on the exact type of stuff I tested out listed above. Everyone is welcome to answer any gameplay questions, some universe questions, and glitch/bug questions. I will try to answer everyones before 7. Leave your questions below, but first, my hands-on with the game.

Presentation: The first thing you will not when you get the game is that you feel you are watching T.V., no joke. The graphics in this game are unbelievable and I was only playing on a 720p television. The one at my house that I will be playing on is 1080p, and I can only imagine how it will look on there. Basically, the in game models of the characters looked better than the character wallpapers as they were a bit blurrier, lol. The new camera system fits in perfectly in giving the most authentic WWE game ever. It pulls back and forward, up and down, left and right at just the right times. There is one issue with this though in last man standing matches when you are trying to get up with the pin meter, if the opponent is taunting or moving around, the camera zooms in and out and messes up your focus. The championship intros, all the little cutscenes, and the WWEHD and WWE Live logos all help in creating an authentic WWE presentation feel to the game.

Gameplay: This in my opinion is the most important part of the game as it determines whether I can play the game for 1 day or 1 year. The first thing I noticed is that the new predator technology is everything anyone has ever wanted it to be. It is very smooth, well paced (matches programming), and most importantly refreshing and fun. Each superstar feels different and play like they would on T.V. The inclusion of the all new adrenaline meter also helps to reduce the amount of running spam attacks online. I feel this has been implemented perfectly and has a beautiful balance to it. I can't explain this much more, you just need to try it out for yourself . Also, the new comeback ability is the best ability out there as it is both realistic and helps with balancing out a match as far as competing goes. One thing I wish though was that you could have a longer amount of time to pull it off at it seemed you only had about 15 seconds to do it. I also loved the new submission system. The crawling to the ropes feature is extraordinary. Although there isn't a true animation for grabbing the rope, the wrestler reaches and touches the rope quickly. Lastly, as always with THQ, when they improve the game, they have to almost always remove a part that was already good from last year. I'll get more into this later when I talk about the Pros and Cons.

Controls: Im not going to lie, I have played every Smackdown game and I feel this is the best control scheme ever. It is extremely user friendly as it took me about 45 seconds to get used to. Essentially, every button does what you would think it should do if you were new to the series. The only thing I couldn't figure out how to do was the on ground limb targeting system but I know it is in there somewhere.

A.I: this is probably the second most important thing for the game as far as replay ability goes after gameplay. At first I played a couple matches on easy to get a good feel for the game and won them all. I will admit that easy felt like hard last year, but I'm only comparing aggressiveness and smartness, not reversing. Lets face it, reversing last year was a joke. After this, I played 4 matches on legend. I won the first one by pin. I quickly realized that the A.I. gets straight to the point, uses strategy, and capitalizes on the smallest mistake possible. Although the A.I. definitely kicks out of more pins compared to last year, it still lacks in this area. The next 3 matches I lost and I think it had a lot to do with me being Del Rio. I was trying to submit Morrison instead of pinning because that was a little to easy. Submitting is still really hard this year. I consider myself to be quite good at Smackdown games because without cheating, and playing a lot of 6 man matches against noobs online last year, I had a 1000-400 record. All in all, the A.I. is a big step up compared to last year and you all should be happy about it.

Here are a list of little details, (my pros and cons) and as you would suspect, all my cons are basically what they have removed this year. Honestly, if no gameplay abilities were removed this year, this game would have scored a 9.0 easily.

PROS
-Overall attention to detail.
-Even in matches that you can't make people tap in, such as last man standing, if you win the breaking point mini game, the other person still taps out and commentary will bring it up saying that it doesn't matter if he taps.
-Limb targeting system works great, especially for guys like ADR.
-Hit detection has been improved.
-A.I. is much smarter this year.
-Few new matches besides 40 man rumble...handicap matches in free brawl.
-Breaking Point Submission system works great.

CONS
-EVERY SINGLE ENVIRONMENTAL HOTSPOT HAS BEEN REMOVED, except for the 10 punches in the corner. This really disappointed me.
-No more grapples with the trashcan or standing guillotines with the chair. I didn't try doing grapples with the table and the kendo stick but I'm sure those are removed as well.
-No weapons allowed outside of the hell in a cell again.
-No ground weapon grapples like con chair toes on the outside again this year.
-Physics have decreased this year as if you get suplexed on an object, the superstars and divas don't react to it as much.
-Something that should be fixed next year is that I started out a match and suplexed Sin Cara through a table and he popped backed to his feet while selling at the same time. This took away from the realism of the match.
-NO MORE REMOVING THE TURNBUCKLE PAD! This really saddened me as well as this was the main method I would use to bloody my opponent.

Answers to a lot of questions that people have been having.

-Invisible wall in ladder matches, money in the bank matches, and TLC matches do not exist! (THANK GOD)
-You can't interfere in cage matches.
I forgot the rest haha.

Overall thoughts: I thought this game has a lot of potential and in my opinion COULD be the best wrestling game ever based on my experience with Road to Wrestlemania, Universe Mode, and mostly online. BUT, I ADVISE ALL OF YOU TO NOT OVERHYPE YOURSELVES. The game is great but is truely not really the type of game that THQ and you all are hyping it up to be. I say this because there are some little gameplay issues that stop you from enjoying the game to the fullest. Nonetheless, this game is great. You should all pre-order and buy it on the 22nd.

With the "improvements" they've claimed to have made with Universe mode, it's more of a "I'll believe it when I see it" kind of thing. 2011 Universe was a great idea on paper, but it seriously just failed. I would've rather played exhibition and made up storylines in my head. The good thing about last year's game was that it stopped me from overhyping any further WWE games, though I think I'll still give this one a shot. I have my fingers crossed that they've updated CaS, especially for the divas cause a lot of the shit they had wasn't wearable. Though I doubt they even touched it.

I liked taking the turnbuckle off, weapons in HiaC, and raming my opponents grapefruits into the ringpost. And no conchairto or weapon grapples?

Ugh. I'm hating this game already. Universe and RtWM better be really good this year. This has the potential to be the first Smackdown game (new franchise my ass) i take back.
