I like this thing Asuka's had going on where she's getting gradually more heelish with every single Takeover match since the second Bayley one. Ember needed that loss to be honest, it could help build her as she hasn't had any real character development yet, and it separates her from Asuka when she does inevitably beat her because she won't be undefeated. It also develops Asuka but it remains to be seen if they'll actually follow up on the character development on television. The match was great, Ember is great. Asuka is serving AJ and now that she's defeated EVERYONE they're probably just gonna put the title on Ruby Rot or Kimber Lee Simmons like they did with Paige.  I like Asuka and think she's generally great at what she does. The huge undefeated streak is fun in theory, the problem is they do nothing in between big matches with her. There's no storyline. This could be different, because this is the first time she had to cheat to pull out the victory, rather than straight domination. Ember had her done, so there's a really simple storyline they could make out of it. I just won't hold my breath. I'd like Ember to win the next match and then I'd like that to lead to a match with Peyton. But I could say Billie and Peyton called up before then to build up the rosters. |
