I was going to post in the food porn one, but this is definitely not fitting. So, yeah a general food thread seemed necessary. Anyway, I went to what was advertised as a Scottish Pub/Restaurant last night in Burke's honor. So the menu had four (if you push it) items that I would even consider not typical American fare. Scotch eggs and sauerkraut balls*, some sort of meat pie, and then "full Scottish breakfast." There was no specification as to what was included. So, I needed to Google it. Explain this to me, please. I already don't understand the weird beans on toast/with breakfast thing you weirdos from the UK have going on, but I genuinely don't know what half of that stuff is. Skip the toast, eggs, ham, and that weird random tomato (again wtf?) and run it down for me, pretty please. *These are actually probably an Ohio thing, but they're gross and I'm blaming you guys.

Those mushrooms in front of the toast look disgusting. They look like slugs. Ugh, I hate mushrooms.
To the left of the egg is a potato scone. I've mentioned them on here before. They're great.
To the right of the egg is a black pudding. I haven't tried one in years.
Above the potato scone is a square sausage. Ours are almost always square.
Not sure what exactly that is next to the black pudding. Looks like a burger that's been dropped on an ashtray or something.

It's so random. Is it meant to be eaten by one person? Is this a normal everyday thing? If so I'm going to need the rest of the world to back off America for our disgusting food habits. Do you guys just call everything pudding?

It's the type of thing that would be on the menu in cafes and stuff. No one is eating that at home though. Well maybe on a Sunday. A lot of people have a bigger breakfast on Sunday.

I just accidentally had real bacon for the first time in months. Now it's going to take me forever to convince myself soy bacon is just as good.

I'm trying out a new stew recipe and it looks and smells like dog food. So, Jay, I'll send you some.

Astro, have you been aware of this naked/topless chefs on YouTube thing and deliberately holding out on me?
It's now my mission to find more.
