So happy for Becky. Truly well deserved. The audience loves her, she comes off as a genuinely nice person and she was the best choice to lead the division. Just because it hasn't been WWE doesn't mean she hasn't been toiling for years Burke. She's been wrestling since 2002, including coming through a career threatening injury. She's committed and she's awesome and she's doing it for Ireland. She still looks like a big ass Cheeto.

As much as I wanted Nikki to win, it should've been Naomi. Becky has already done more in less than a year since debuting than Naomi has in her entire career. She's without a doubt the best athlete on both rosters and her becoming the first SD Champion would've cemented her name in history, not only as the first like I said, but the first African American woman to hold that title. WWE had more to benefit from Naomi winning the title than Becky. Becky has a long career ahead of her, there are and I'm sure there will be plenty more moments left for her to have her hand in.
Now if Naomi ever gets the title, she'll just be placeholder for someone they care about to get it. What a waste.

I love Naomi but she's younger than Becky.
I would have been very happy with her or Becky winning but Naomi had no real momentum at all and hasn't really made a connection since redebuting. Let her find her new character beyond glowing up, get her some wins and with a bit of luck she'll be ready for her moment in her hometown at WM. Last night was a step in the right direction, she came off like a star.
Becky has the momentum and the support and out of the two is least likely of the two to have a floundering go-nowhere-style reign. Let her do the Eva Marie feud or maybe one with Alexa if she finds a tag team to plonk herself with. Still allows her to do the underdog thing in that case. Naomi can be built up against the one who isn't feuding with Becky or Natalya, or maybe even have conflict with the Usos for embracing the dark side.
Meanwhile Nikki and Carmella can do their thing.

I don't think Becky even had that much momentum to begin with. She'd lost at SummerSlam after that stale feud with Natalya, won a rematch post draft, and then lost to Alexa Bliss a week after. Honestly none of the girls really had any momentum going into the match with the exception of Nikki and Carmella who'd just started their feud. But obviously a title isn't necessary for their feud to carry on. Unless you're going by crowd reaction? Because I feel like then it should go to Nikki.
And I don't think it matters that Naomi is younger, that doesn't mean she's likely to have a longer tenure with them (I'm sure Naomi will be out way before Becky). Becky was called up less than a year ago, she could've gone without having the title right away. Naomi's been on the main roster for about 4 years, she's long been established. I mean I get what you're saying in regards to her gimmick change, but I don't think it would really matter or take away from it had she won because we've been following her journey for 4 years on WWE tv, not even counting her NXT stint.
I'm not against Becky having the title, nor do I think she's undeserving of that particular accolade, I just don't think she needs it right this second. And if she won it further down the line, it would've been the same as her winning it now. Whereas Naomi, it's long overdue and I think her having the 'first ever SD Womens Champ' under her belt is something she needs. But hey maybe you're right, maybe it'll work out for her come WM time and she'll have some great story line going into it, I seriously doubt she will, but hopefully I'm wrong.
I mean I guess you could argue Natalya too, but I feel like at this point she's enhancement talent.
Alexa and Carmella still have a bit to go, but they're certainly taking the right steps.

Match of the night was obviously the SmackDown Women's Championship match, that was incredible.
Everything else was kind of weak, especially Bray Wyatt losing to Kane in 2016 ... on PPV. I didn't mind Rhyno and Heath winning the tag titles though.

lol, the main event was that bad that I forgot to even mention my displeasure with it. I can't believe AJ Styles of all people is WWE Champion, I'm so disappointed.

I just feel like there was much more of an appetite for a Becky win than anything else. She's over, she's been running the underdog story for a year now and a win from her will create interest in the title picture.
Naomi as much as we love her doesn't have the same support and I feel like were she to win at this juncture it would fall flat. I think she's great but I don't want her to be Eve (first two reigns) or Kaitlyn style champion. I want her to have a moment and have the fans care about her as champion. I don't believe she's in that position atm.
And yes Nikki is popular but I prefer Becky and Nikki got to be on top for a year already so hey.

My worst nightmare tonight is AJ Styles and Becky Lynch walking out with the top two titles.
