Conor McGregor renewed his war of words against the WWE during a media appearance Friday, calling the company's wrestlers "dweebs" and marquee star John Cena "a big, fat, 40-year-old failed Mr. Olympia motherfucker."
"These WWE guys, they're not right in the head, some of them," McGregor said during media day for UFC 202 ahead of his rematch with Nate Diaz. "The new age (wrestlers) are dweebs. Absolute dweebs."
After praising WWE CEO Vince McMahon and "legends" like Ric Flair, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, McGregor again provoked the current class of WWE superstars, especially Cena. "What's the main guy? John Cena. He's 40. He's 40 years of age. He's walking around in a luminous orange t-shirt and a headband talking about nobody can see him," the MMA fighter continued. "We can see him right there. He's a big, fat, 40-year-old failed Mr. Olympia motherfucker."
McGregor's latest comments came less than a week after he disparaged the entire WWE roster, referring to them as a bunch of "messed up pussies." The remarks resulted in almost every WWE wrestler challenging the brash Irishman to a fight. Flair went as far as accusing McGregor of stealing his out-of-the-ring persona and braggadocio from "the Nature Boy."
Although McGregor singled out Flair as a "cool motherfucker," he insisted he didn't steal the wrestler's style. "I don't know what to say to Ric Flair," McGregor said. "This ain't no gimmick. This is the real shit. I've gotta get in and fight a man for real. With no script, with no nothing. He was talking about bringing some other wrestler guys out to challenge me. Come bring it, then. This is the real shit over here. You know want to come over, we can fight no problem. A few of them are talking about the street and all. If they want to do that, come at me and see what happens."
McGregor faces off against Diaz in the octagon at Las Vegas' new T-Mobile Arena on August 20th.
