I've been running a lot lately to try and get back in the shape I was a year ago (general health wise not weight wise - it's not like I'm fat! ). Most of the songs on my iPod are completely inappropriate for it though. It feels weird when a Soundgarden/Alice in Chains/Oasis song comes on. So use this thread to post your favourite work out songs.

Almost anything by Breaking Benjamim, or the Britney album for cardio.

I'm weird. I don't really listen to pump up songs. I listen to songs I like that calm me down and help me forget I'm working out. That way I can just zone out and get through it without getting tired and stopping halfway through a rep.
Just to name a few that I listened to today
Usually anything by Linkin Park, Kanye West or the Red Hot Chili Peppers will do

It depends on what I'm doing. If it's something that I can sort of zone out during it then I'd agree; I listen to stuff for lyrics generally (though never ballads). But if I'm running it's impossible for me to do that so I need something with a beat for rhythm to help drive me along without wanting to kill myself.

I might prefer The Flashdance theme as a song but St.Elmo's Fire has a nice build to it that can work in an activity situation.
Sports themes, especially from the NFL, work really well with this too.
