All great choices. Survivor Series really cemented her status as a star on the rise in the Divas division. The match against Gail, I feel like she played her character to a complete T there. Her cheating and cowardly ways do great things for the baby faces, which is why Maryse is the best heel Diva since, like, Jesus invented the calendar. Finally, the match against Michelle. What can you say really? A storybook moment in Maryse's career. After feuding with Michelle for months (not to mention all of the rumored backstage cattiness between the two), Maryse finally bested her for the title in her home country. Like a happy spin on Trish Stratus' retirement match.

I love how confident WWE is in Maryse's mic skills. I can't recall any other Diva, not even Trish Stratus, sitting in on commentary as often as Maryse has.
These aren't even all of her contributions to commentary.

All personal bias aside (well, almost anyway), she really is awesome on commentary. Her stints at the announce table always provide many of her now to be expected words of wisdom (and I bet they’re all ad-libbed). The Michael Cole vintage nerd line was obviously a favorite. She was on form again last week as well though. “I love money. Ted DiBiase is rich, This is purely coincidental, I assure you.“ The Rock is the only person I can think of who was almost as funny in the guest announcer role. Eve’s abortion of an attempt at it this week on RAW just highlights even further how good Maryse really is in that role. It’s a shame not everyone has the presence, charisma and confidence to pull of such a demanding job. |

Raw House Show Results: July 23rd, 2010 Houston, TX
Ted DiBiase and Marsye came out for the next match. Goldust came out next to face Ted, who had a proposition. 1,000 bucks to walk away since the fans don't deserve to see his abilities. Ted referenced Goldust as Cody's brother for a Legacy reminder. Ted was pretty good on the mic with his slow, dry heel delivery. Goldust thought it over and said the offer wasn't enough before popping Ted with the mic.
(3) Ted DiBiase (w/Maryse) beat Goldust in 7:00. DiBiase came back with aggressive offense after the mic shot and played to the crowd after knocking Goldust to the floor. Goldust made a strong comeback flying around the ring before having the pin, but the ref was distracted by Maryse on the apron. DiBiase then hit Dream Street for the win. Decent match you'd probably see on Superstars. DiBiase's offense looked crisp throughout.

Glad to hear Maryse is bringing out the best in Teddy. Not that I expected anything less.
