The speaking part of my French exam was hilarious. The old lady reading the questions would be like "good, but now say it with more thought...more passion!" I struggled to keep a straight face.

Haha. The only language I've ever 'formally' studied was Spanish for a few years and Italian for like 4 months. Yet, I can't remember a damn thing. And I couldn't stand my teacher... she wasn't even Spanish, she was German. Though, learning any Latin language helps in learning others from the same language family, I suppose. It's just very difficult to maintain if you don't practice it often. Unfortunately, broken French is not as cute as broken English. I try not to overstep my limits.

I want to learn Spanish eventually.
The only languages available for me to study at the time were French and German, and who wants to ever have to speak German?
The theory part of the French exam was actually very easy. Although I guess the theory is always much easier than the practical, PE exams, driving theory test etc come to mind.

Yeah, I've opted not to take German as well. It just isn't appealing to me, no offense to any Germans. The next time I truly commit to learning a language, I want to try to live amongst people that speak it, lol. Hey, after all... that technique worked out for Maryse. Congratulations on your 'graduation' to Makeover Project, btw. You've set an example for the rest of our Ugly Ducklings.

I didn't even notice the upgrade haha. It's an honour. I feel like I'm on my way to being something special here.
If I ever go to France, I don't know if I would embarrass myself and try to engage the locals in conversation. It could be fun though.

I like to think that the French might find tourists endearing, but everything I've heard would lead me to believe otherwise. I'm sure they don't appreciate me butchering their language. So, it's mostly just wishful thinking on my part, but I'd still love to travel someday.

France is definitely on my wish list of places to visit someday. Despite all the jokes about the French, it does seem like an awesome place. Taking this somewhat back on-topic, I wouldn't mind visitng Montreal as well at some point. So much shit to do, not enough time.

Beautiful Persons should host a field trip, tbh. All expenses-paid. I heard Gucci Mane posts on IMDb. I'm sure he'd be more than willing to sponsor us.

I hope you can fulfil that promise. I've been burnt before.
My 4th year French class were supposed to go on a trip to the south of France at the end of the school year, then 2 months before the plans got cancelled. They switched it to London, because it would be cheaper.

omg lol. Excuse my ignorance, but isn't Glasgow only just several hours away from London? That's like from Florida to Georgia. Sounds like you got ripped off, buddy. BPD, I hope you sued.

Don't rub it in.
London was pretty boring tbh. The only real highlights were going on the London Eye, a creepy haunted house tour thing and going to Alton Towers (an awesome theme park, I guess non Brits have never heard of it) on the way home.

If it makes you feel any better, my middle school trip to Islands of Adventure was canceled because the entire 8th grade decided to plot a cafeteria food fight. I got to see my principal get decked in the face with an orange, so it was kind of worth it. Needless to say, the food fight in reality was nothing like I'd imagined. I don't know what I was expecting though. It's not like there were any Stacys or Torries or Trishs in my graduating class. But still, going to IOA was a big deal at the time.

Hmm, cafeteria food fights were always a lot of fun...but not at the expense of going to a theme park. I'm still obsessed with them.
I think I'm gonna attempt to write a book one day about my experiences at all the theme parks I've visited. I don't care if no one else is interested, this is purely self gratification.

Which theme parks have you been to? I'm probably in the minority for saying this (and people think I'm crazy when I say it), but I hate Disney. lol. I suppose that's a whole other conversation for another topic, but I haven't had too great experiences there. Having been forced to ride the Tower of Terror multiple times, I don't really jump for joy at the mention of Disney World. Universal Studios is probably more my taste.
