'South Park' misses episode deadline for first time in 13 years
South Park has missed its deadline for the first time in 13 years, meaning Comedy Central will have to air a repeat instead of a new episode this week.
The animated comedy usually produces each episode in the six days before they air. This ensures the show can remain topical and up to date with current affairs.
However, South Park Studios experienced a three-hour power cut on Tuesday (October 15) and the episode failed to hit its deadline for the first time in South Park's 240-show history.
Comedy Central said in a statement: "From animation to rendering to editing and sound, all of their computers were down for hours and they were unable to finish episode 1704 'Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers' in time for air tonight."
Co-creator Trey Parker added: "It sucks to miss an air date but after all these years of tempting fate by delivering the show last minute, I guess it was bound to happen."
The missed episode, 'Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers', will now air next Wednesday (October 23) on Comedy Central. A repeat of 'Scott Tenorman Must Die' will replace it tonight.
Dammit!

After watching 6 Days to Air, I'm surprised that they've only missed the deadline once.

Best season in a very long time, imo!

That episode was almost too much for me to handle. Game of Thrones, Black Friday AND the Xbox/Playstation war? Plus it was clearly a promotion for the game that I'm now even more angry got pushed back. Their shot at themselves about pre-ordering a game that some douchebags in LA haven't even finished yet eased the pain a little tho, cause at least they're aware. That was by far the best episode of the season, can't wait for next week.

I'll never be able to watch Game of Thrones again I really hope this whole saga ends with the PS4 and XBone fanboys "killing" eachother. Then Butters and Scott Malkinson buy Wii U's causing it to win the Black Friday War. If they actually have one console win it'll be annoying cause it'll just give the fanboys more fuel. Go PS4 and Princes Kenny tho

I loved the dig at their own game at the end.

That episode was almost too much for me to handle. Game of Thrones, Black Friday AND the Xbox/Playstation war? I finally got around to watching the most recent season. That Black Friday trilogy was brilliant. At this point I probably have like 100 favourite South Park episodes.
