I figured I'd make a thread for this, just because I love this series. And my best friend finally came home and we've been playing this shit all night. Also forgot how RE5 made me scream like a bitch. Good times. Also some love for Claire. And downloaded the DLC for RE5 (finally), the Nightmares one is awesome. I love how the mansion is an exact replica from the first game. I wish they'd remake RE2.

I loved Resident Evil so much back in the old PS1/PS2 days. I used to play the first two all the time. After that I didn’t bother with them as much.
I have Resident Evil 5 but I don’t think I’ve completed it yet.

It's official, Resident Evil 6 is coming this year.
After being teased earlier this week, Capcom has announced the game will be available on PS3 and 360 on Nov. 20, with a PC release following at some point.
The game will feature Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield as the main characters, each having their own story in US and China, respectively.
You can see the debut trailer below.
Astro, you're slipping! As the resident Resident Evil megafan I'm surprised you haven't posted this already. I've already been seeing ads on TV for this the past couple days and it's 10 months away. I can only remember games like Grand Theft Auto getting hyped that early before. I was looking forward to Operation Raccoon City but I think I'm just going to hold out for this one now, seeing as it's a real sequel. I should probably go back and finally complete Resident Evil 5 now in preparation.

That's really weird, I thought it was supposed to be a cgi movie, I had no idea they were making another game. Regardless, there is not a gif that can appropriately describe my excitement!

Sherry is back, and I believe that may be Steve Burnside as well. Though I'd much rather see Rebecca Chambers over Burnside.

I'm so confused, I though this game wasn't released until Nov 20th? But apparently it was released today?

I’m debating whether or not to get this when it comes out here tomorrow.
The last few Resident Evil's were disappointing to me but I always live in hope that they'll someday recapture the magic of the earlier games.

If you've played the older ones, apparently they bring back a character from the second game. I've only played the demo and this game really bumped up it's difficulty, or maybe it's just been awhile and I'm not used to it. But I'm still kinda excited for it as it kinda seems to go back to it's survival horror roots, or that's what it looks like at least. Still no Claire though

The Resident Evil series hasn't blown fans away with recent releases, but one spin-off starring Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield surprised and delighted many. Resident Evil Revelations, which hit 3DS and last-gen consoles in 2012, received far more acclaim than even Capcom's big-budget Resident Evil 6. The publisher is capitalizing on the excitement with a sequel for last- and current-gen consoles. For our November issue cover story we met up with Capcom in Tokyo, Japan to get our hands on an exclusive section of the game and time to chat with the developers about the game and what to expect from the proper sequel to RE 6. Our cover story takes a deep dive into Claire Redfield and Moira Burton's harrowing escape from a blood-crusted prison facility. We got special access to a section of the game where the leading ladies fight their way through a cell block and face off with the biggest enemy seen in the game so far. We also got our hands dirty getting used to the subtle, welcome changes to tried-and-true RE 4-style combat, like a new dodge mechanic and the ability to swap between characters. Capcom also opened up to us during extensive interviews about the game's downloadable episodic format, story details, and whether the next main, numbered sequel will focus on true survival horror or something else. The remake of the 2002 GameCube Resident Evil is also looking great, which we saw in action and cover in this expansive RE story as well. *** I'd been hoping for a remake of RE2, but another game with Claire as the lead character?

I really wish they'd stop making these games coop. I loved how Resident Evil 4 was, why not just stick with that. It's only fun if you have someone to play with.

I always wanted to play this when it was remade the first time, but I didn't have a GameCube. I don't know how I'll decide which character to play as. Jill is a one of my RE Queens, but Chris... those muscles...

The last time they remade it seemed too early. I'll be getting this one though.

The graphics really don't look terribly different except for the environment, lol. Then again, why mess with perfection?
