Everyone always says how Jessica Lange makes this show and how she's far and away the star, and I agree that she is amazing, but am I the only one who will go on if she doesn't come back? She definitely made the first season and blew everyone out of the water, but Sarah Paulson stole Asylum, and Emma, Angela and Miss Bates were on ha heels all throughout Coven. Even Dora has slayed more than Elsa this season. I love Lange in this, but yeah I'll still watch it without her. The thing I really love about the show is that the female characters are really well written. Even in shows about women they are often written cliched.

Jimmy needs to never try to be Kurt Cobain ever again.

Surprisingly I'm okay with this. I knew that drinking would be my downfall.

I kinda gave up on this season. It wasn't the same after the clown died.
I got last season on Blu-Ray though which I'll start sometime soon.

I'm starting to agree. This season started out with a lot of potential, but yeah, they wasted Twisty. Dandy is great and I'm still into the overall plot with Stanley, Maggie, Jimmy and now Desiree. I feel like they waste so much time on the twins, though. And there is literally no point to Elsa's character. The Pepper episode was just the absolute pits.
You'll love Coven, though.

I have been so annoyed with this season since that pointless episode that was dedicated entirely to Pepper, but tonight was the final straw. Ryan Murphy could fuck up a wet dream, and now I've already lost any hope I had for the final season of Glee because he literally never gets anything right.

The thing that made me lose interest was the fact that there’s no one to root for. Everyone is evil as fuck.
All of the freaks were sadistic as hell in the very first episode when they murdered that cop, chopped his body up and buried him. None of the episodes were they tried to make the freaks sympathetic worked for me after that. I was hoping Maggie would be the “good guy” of the show and she probably is the closest thing to it right now but it was only a few episodes ago when even she was seriously considering drowning the little girl/woman.
It’s not like I need a happy ending in everything I watch but the possibility has to at least be there. This show is just depressing though. Ethel was the only person who I don’t think has done anything horrific and she gets terminal cancer and is then murdered. There is nothing to look forward to. No end game to hope for.

At this point I just hope Dandy kills them all.

They killed off the best characters too early. I could have also done without Jessica Lange this year. Her character sucks.

So my mom got into this show like hardcore this season and wouldn't stop pestering me till I finished so we could discuss the finale. So I decided to finish it, 7 episodes in one night.
I didn't so much mind Pepper's episode, but rather how the show started on a downward spiral afterwards. Actually my biggest issue was Maggie's death and everyone's reaction to it. I get that she fucked up, but ultimately I don't think there was any blood on her hands and she tried to atone for the problems she more or less set in motion. And everyone acted like they didn't give a shit, when an episode earlier her and Desi were out playing Scooby Doo. But her death was the saddest to me. Well her's, Amazon Eve, Penny and Andy's. Also Jimmy was such a fucking brat, I'm glad he didn't end up with Maggie. I'm just mad about her fate.
The finale was alright, I did enjoy Desi, Jimmy, and the twins teaming up and I would've been fine with it ending there. Though I understand they still had to tie up Elsa's story and with it being Jessica Lange's last season they wanted to give her some kind of send off.
I think this season as a whole was good, but after the Pepper episode, it just started to lose the horror feeling and felt more hopeless. And I think Burke had said something about it, it's hard to go on in a show like this when it feels like there's no chance of a happy ending (even though there was).
Desi was probably my favorite this season, but shout outs to Amazon Eve (I have no idea why I liked her so much, maybe because she beat the shit out of Dell), Penny, and Ethel. I especially loved Desi and Ethel's bond. I'll probably end up finishing the rest of Asylum and then Coven relatively soon because I want to try and speculate how all the seasons are connected. Right now I think they're all in purgatory or maybe in the seven circles of hell.

After their reaction I couldn't help but view the freaks as horrible people, and then I didn't care what happened to any of them.
