Britney Spears and Lady Gaga top the list of Billboard's Mid-Year Awards poll winners. Britney edged Gaga to be named the MVP for the first half of the year by a 2.8% margin. She similarly edged Gaga in Favorite #1 song and Favorite #1 album while winning best music video and best tour handily. Gaga won best festival performance for her gig at Radio 1's Big Weekend as well as best dressed. Wiz Khalifa beat Bon Iver handily for best newcomer and Jennifer Lopez dominated best comeback with almost 68% of the vote.

A weak era musically, in Angelwings' opinion. And I agree, for the record.

Gaga has some catchy songs, but ehhhhh. And I didn't even realise Britney had a new album out tbh.

I'm totally with you on this. It's not that I dislike modern music, but I'm really not that into modern mainstream music. That sounds pretentious, but it's true. Most of my knowledge of modern pop comes from Glee. I had no clue who Bruno Mars was prior to that.

Britney's new album was great. Radiohead's was alright. And I liked Bad Meets Evil's recent one.

Overall though, this year has been pretty bad music wise, imo.
