I know we've discussed these stories before on IMDb and whatnot, but I personally never tire of hearing how Burke braved that angry bookstore riot to rescue Maryse from harm's way. So post stories from your experiences either meeting wrestlers or attending live shows!
My best friend and I met WCW alumni The Barbarian at the local mall before a wrestling show at the civic center. We were actually just there to shop, but then we saw the sign and there were like, ten people standing around to meet him so we stopped to take a picture with him because we felt bad. He was so sweet though and his arms were huge. He pulled me closer for the picture and like, man handled me. We started calling him Barbie and told him to wave at us at the show, which he did. We ♥ him. Oh, and this was also the show where Buff Bagwell auditioned for a spot on To Catch A Predator.
The peak of my wrestling experience was when I went to an ECW house show in 2006 though. Kelly Kelly was by far the star of the show. For starters she stopped to smile for a picture she saw me taking (I should get my friend to fish that up so I can post it here) and then we met her when she came out during the intermission to sign autographs and give an impromptu Exposé. She was so sweet, especially to all the little kids. Rob Van Dam looked me in the eyes when he was slapping fans' hands, Steven Richards made me hit my friend in the head when he knocked my arm into her face, Big Show towered over us when he got on the turnbuckle (I thought the ropes were going to snap tbh) and I got a handful of Rene Dupree when he sought refuge in the barricade corner. French Phenom indeed. Holler!

The first show I went to was either 2001 or 2002. It was awful. Afterwards though I got to briefly meet Bret Hart (looked tired), Scott Steiner (looked mad) and Road Dogg (looked high). Also, Buff Bagwell, Konnan, Disco Inferno, Gangrel, Luna and a few others. Jeff Jarrett was a dick. He was the only person who walked straight past and ignored everyone who was waiting. I didn’t know who he was at the time but I now realize that one of the people there was Jeremy Borash.
I worked in the complex where Maryse and R-Truth did a signing in Borders a couple years ago. They arrived like an hour late and people were getting kinda pissed. When they finally arrived though everyone cheered. I marvelled at how great Maryse (and the Divas Championship belt) looked. I was tempted to say “What’s Up?“ to Truth but I thought better of it and simply said “hello, good to see you” and directed them to their designated spot. Maryse said thank you. She sounded so quiet and humble (basically the complete opposite of her character tbh). Unfortunately, since I was technically employed by the building complex and not the shop itself, I was reduced to patrolling the entrance way rather than being up close and personal with them for the duration. When everyone was leaving they were talking about how gorgeous Maryse was and how cool Truth was. After the signing was finished they went next door to WH Smith for a few minutes during which time I was talking to the WWE security guy. He saw the pic on my SIA badge and said I looked like I was 12 years old. He said he couldn’t believe I was a security guard. I’m still not sure if he meant that as a compliment (like, you don’t look old/fat enough to be a security guard!) or if he was insinuating that I would never be able to kick anyone’s ass…
I’ve been to 4 WWE house shows between 2003-2007 but I never actually met any of the wrestlers. The highlight of all the shows though was the final one where I finally got to see The Undertaker’s entrance in person.

Your Maryse encounter gives me so much life. I read that with a gleam in my eye. The fact that you were entrusted with Maryse's safety makes me admire you so greatly. I was talking to the WWE security guy. He saw the pic on my SIA badge and said I looked like I was 12 years old. He said he couldn’t believe I was a security guard. I’m still not sure if he meant that as a compliment (like, you don’t look old/fat enough to be a security guard!) or if he was insinuating that I would never be able to kick anyone’s ass… Did he by any chance happen to be this guy? He was the main security guard at the ECW show and I've seen him on TV a couple of times. We struck up a conversation with him towards the end of the show while he was squatting in front of the barricade and he called Justin Roberts over to take a picture with us. It would be trippy if it was the same guy, lol.

No. He was a fat white guy. He had on a black shirt with the WWE logo and he was holding doors open for them so I'm guessing he had to be some kind of official WWE employee though.

I should have asked her to let me hold her Divas Championship. I might never get the chance to ever again.

Chris Jericho threw a bottle of water over me, dousing my face with his liquid (I've already written it, so I'm not changing the wording).

I forgot to mention that I passed on the opportunity to meet Melina a year or so ago. She was making an appearance in the local shopping centre here. It was to switch on the Christmas lights. I think MVP and Mark Henry were going to be there also. I got off work like an hour before they were scheduled to appear though and I couldn’t be bothered waiting around. I kinda wish I had, if for no other reason than to make Tiarnán jealous.

I spoke to Doug Williams briefly on Friday night, and Finlay ended up brawling in the crowd right next to me. I would have reached out and tapped him on the back, but he was a lot bigger in real life.
I regret not having my picture taken with them though.
