Mileena.  I love Rain's costume in this game. I hated the way he always looked like a purple version of Scorpion, Sub-Zero, etc., but now he looks like an actual prince. Like a male variant of what you'd see Kitana wear. |

My brother pre ordered it (from bestbuy) and got it for me as a late birthday gift, but what's the deal with getting Goro? Like did they give you a slip with the code on it or did you get an email?

Blah. It said I'm supposed to receive it via email but can take 30 minutes to 8 hours. I hope Goro doesn't offer some sort of life changing game play

The story for this game is so good. Like, it's feature film quality.
At first I didn't care about any of the new people, but they've done a good job at making them feel right at home in the MK realm. I like them all, even Ferra/Torr.

Storymode is definitely breathtaking and beautiful, but beyond that it's kind of underwhelming. And short. The last game had to be longer, and it was much more of a challenge. I remember trying to beat Shao Kahn took me hours. The post credits scene did help alleviate a little bit of the disappointment though. I like that there's something to go off of. My biggest issue with storymode, aside from it being too short, are the new characters. I would've rather played as Kitana or Tanya rather than Jacqui. I don't know why, I was just especially disappointed with her. I think it's because they should've incorporated characters from other realms. This goes with Ferra/Torr as well. I would've loved to play as Li Mei or Frost or Nitara (are we just gonna pretend like she doesn't exist?). Or Sareena. Oh my god, why not Sareena??? She looked amazing! Oh and Mileena's death was sad. And I don't like that Jade wasn't a revenant. But Sindel was? Throw me a bone here.
All that said, I love how progressive this game was though. First Kung Jin turning out to be gay (I won't be convinced otherwise), Jacqui and Takeda's interracial relationship, and to top it all off Cassie saves Earthrealm and not some over muscled man? Praise. To make it even better was how the women were portrayed. Sonya and Johnny Cage's relationship ended because Sonya was cold and distant, choosing her job over her family. I love that she was put in that role. Cassie was the leader of her SF team and obviously Sonya being a high ranking official. The women were treated as equals and this is something rare to see, especially from the Mortal Kombat franchise. And obviously they weren't hypersexualized like they'd been in the past. Not that it was an issue for me, Jade's design from MK9 is by far one of my favorites and I just took it for some sort of Edenian thing. That didn't explain Sonya though.
And the cameos were great. Tanya, Rain (though he should've been in the game as playable), Li Mei, Sareena, Frost, and Bo Rai Chu. I think if I were to rate storymode, I'd give it a solid 6/10. The story itself was better than last years, but it was too short. I really hope there'll be another part of storymode released via DLC. And that they release the characters (Tanya and Tremor) to purchase separately because I'm not about to drop 30 dollars on the Kombat Pack. |

I chose White Lotus. Astro chose Special Forces and Jay chose the frozen people clan or w/e. I don't think it effects the game in any real way but you may wanna wait for one of them to answer because I could be wrong?
