I get so stressed watching Littlefinger and Sansa. They're going to fuck shit up. I said from day one that Sansa isn't to be trusted. I think I also said a couple years ago that Arya would end up having to kill Sansa when Sansa betrays her/Jon and I still think that'll be the case.

So I watched the leaked episode 6 yesterday, and as epic as it was, I hated it The show doesn't feel like Game of Thrones anymore. You can tell they aren't working off the books now. I loved this show because it was unpredictable, but now it's become so cliche and predictable. I can guess everything that's going to happen in every episode. Everything feels so rushed now, and character interactions have been terrible, disappointing, and boring. Everyone has been digging Jon and Dany together, but they really have no chemistry. All the characters keep implying they have feelings for each other but I haven't gotten that vibe between them at all. When he called her Dany I wanted to throw up. It was SO forced.
Jon's Avenger crew was such a disappointment. All these great characters and it only lasted one episode. It was just like, these two are talking, now these two are talking, oh look Jon is suddenly walking and talking with someone else now. It again was so forced. And I hated, HATED, that they brought along a bunch of red shirts to have cool zombie bear and white walker deaths. It was such a "Hollywood" thing to do. The thing that was great about Game of Thrones before was they gave every character a name and personality, even if they only lasted 10 minutes, so you actually cared when they died. They brought all these randoms along so they didn't have to kill any of the major characters. They sent like 7 of the most popular characters on a suicide mission that lasted one episode, and the only one who died was the least popular one. I defy you to tell me his name without googling it. If it were an earlier season it would've been just those 7 or 8 characters and half of them would've died. Especially on the mission they were on. And it would've lasted multiple episodes where they could've actually spaced those conversations out naturally instead of just forcing them into 10 minutes of screen time. If this was season 2, they would've been stuck on the rock for 3 episodes freezing to death. Which brings me to my next point.
People have been complaining about the sudden fast travelling in this show, and that was never more apparent than in this episode. It took everyone half of season 1 to get to King's Landing from Winterfell, but in a 20 minute period, Gendry (who is annoying and whiny as shit) ran ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE WALL, sent a raven 700 MILES South to Dragon Stone, and then Dany flew ALL THE WAY back North of the damn wall while these bitches stood on a rock waiting. Fuck you. They would've died before Gendry even made it back, IF he had made it back. What happened to the zombie bears?
And I hate how stupid they're making the characters now. Gendry is annoying as hell. The Hound threw a fucking rock at the White Walkers and almost got them all killed. Dany has been reduced to someone who listens to other people talk, silently rides a dragon, and gives puppy eyes at Jon Snow for no reason at all. But the worst is Sansa. Sansa has had the best character development out of anyone on the show. She went from a spoiled brat who wanted to be a princess, to going through so much hell and being forced to mature into a badass leader. She paid tenfold for her earlier seasons stupidity. Last season ended with her watching the man who wronged her die, and telling Littlefinger to fuck off. But now all of the sudden she's an idiot again, and she's in this contrived feud with Arya where they trying to make it seem like Sansa is eeeeeeevil. Fuck you again.
Honestly, it feels like this season is trying so hard to be epic, instead of just letting things feel natural. They just keep trying to make everyone say oh shit every week. The dragon thing was so rushed. Again, if it were season 2, they would've let that dragon stay dead and forgotten and finally drug him up to turn him into a white walker at the end of episode 10 to tease season 8. Instead they just spoon fed it to us when we were expecting it.
I just don't know. The show feels like it's trying too hard now, and it's become predictable, and they've stopped killing major characters (Jon totally should've died there. He already passed the torch of fighting the White Walkers to Dany anyway.). It's become the damn Walking Dead. Jon is Rick, Sansa is Andrea, and the writers are hacks proving it really was George R.R. Martin's pervy ass making the story good all along. This was supposed to be the most epic episode in the entire series, and I hated it.
HAVING SAID ALL THAT...
I'm hella looking forward to the white walker ice dragon. I just hope the writers stop phoning it in and throw us some curve balls again. That's what made this show so great.

And before you say the white walker dragon was unpredictable, tell that to all these fan posters for Season 7:

And before you say the white walker dragon was unpredictable, tell that to all these fan posters for Season 7: I don't think they predicted that the Night King would kill one of Dany's dragons, and then resurrect as a White Walker Flyer, though. There's been a long standing theory that there's an ice dragon inside The Wall, and the showrunners have obviously heard about that, thought it sounded cool, and gave the Night King his ice dragon this way instead.

When the voiceover person said that next week is the season finale I was like wtf, it feels like it only came back a week or two ago.
I've enjoyed this season but everything feels really rushed in a way that it didn't in earlier seasons. It's hard to believe that there's only about 8 episodes left of the entire series now. There's still so many characters left that deserve their own shine and epic endings. I don't know how they're gonna fit all that into another one of these short seasons.
The dragons are starting to remind me of the tiger in Walking Dead that somehow only kills bad guys and conveniently misses the good guys when it attacks, even if there's like 100 people fighting and they're all dressed practically the same. I can suspend my disbelief enough to deal with dragons themselves existing and zombie ice people and shit but that always makes me laugh.

Episode 6 was honestly just really annoying. I enjoyed the action and whatnot, and it served it's purpose to add a late game changer with what the Night King did, but the ridiculously fast travelling took me right out of it at times. I understand why they're moving so fast now, but they should have planned the show better to have everybody where they needed to be at this point already, instead of having them all rush to be together. This show really needs an extra season or two to properly wrap everything up, in my opinion.

Btw, Tormund and The Hound need their own show.

They all gonna die by the end of this damn thing, so get used to it.
Apparently the finale is going to be 79 minutes long. Getting us ready for those 90 minute episodes next season. I just hope since it's so long, it's paced a lot better than last week.
Also, I've been wanting to go read the actual books, because season 7 so far has been so Hollywood, I'm interested in where the story was actually supposed to go. George R.R. Martin said he doesn't even watch the show anymore because it's gone a completely separate way from the books, and there are at least 20 characters who are dead in the show who are still very much alive to him in his mind. I'm still annoyed they completely cut out Lady Stoneheart.
I feel like whoever wins the throne at the end of the show is gong to be very different from who wins in the books.

I was gonna start the books a couple years ago but they were kinda expensive and I didn't really wanna be living in two universes at once anyway with the show still running. With just a year left of the show now though I think I'm gonna finally start reading them once the show is finally over.

I have the books but I don't want to read them yet, just in case GRRM dies before finishing them. I know it sounds morbid, but I think it's totally justified. I don't want to waste my time.
I got them really cheap when they were on sale, so I'm fine with them just sitting on the shelf.

Well that certainly made up for last week. They all fucked tho. At least they didn't turn Sansa evil, and Cercei finally joined the Survivor Series team. Even if she is planning on hitting an RKO on Dany after they win.
